Title: Wisdom For Life
Memorize: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5-7 (Nkjv)
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
[6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
[7] Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
Message:
Life presents us with choices every day. These choices include who to be friends with, what to wear to an event, what to post on social media, when to speak or be quiet, et cetera.
One key thing that is needed to make the right decisions, however, is wisdom. The good news is that God is ready to give wisdom to anyone who asks Him for it.
In (1 Kings 3:5-9), Solomon asked God for wisdom, and He granted his request. Not only did God grant his request, He also added abundant blessings to it (1 Kings 3:11-13).
Today’s Bible reading enjoins you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and not lean on your understanding.
This means that you should rely on God’s wisdom rather than your opinions or emotions. Wisdom is not just about having the right knowledge; it is about applying it in the right way.
Sometimes, wisdom means walking away from an argument, choosing to remain honest, or waiting patiently on a queue.
My dear child, when faced with tough choices, I encourage you to pause and ask the Lord to give you the wisdom to make the right decision. When you seek Him first, He will direct your steps at all times.
Prayer Point:
Lord, please give me wisdom to make the right decisions always.
HYMN 17: GOD SENT HIS SON, THEY CALLED HIM JESUS
1 God sent His son,
They called Him, Jesus;
He came to love,
Heal and forgive;
He lived and died
To buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there
To prove my Savior lives!
Chorus
Because He lives,
I can face tomorrow!
Because He lives,
All fear is gone.
Because I know
He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
2 How sweet to hold
A newborn baby,
And feel the pride
And joy he brings;
But greater still
The calm assurance:
This child can face
Uncertain days because He Lives!
3 And then one day,
I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final
War with pain;
And then, as death
Gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory
And I’ll know He lives!
