Title: Be The Light
Memorize: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Philippines 4:14-16 (Nkjv)
[14] Do all things without complaining and disputing,
[15] that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
[16] holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
Message:
Being the light means staying true to God’s word even in a perverse world. Today, many Christian teenagers allow the environments they find themselves in to determine their behaviour. Such teenagers have multiple personalities; they act in a certain way in church and another way in social settings where they think they are free to do whatever they like. However, God does not want any of His children to have multiple personalities. If you are truly a child of God, your faith and actions will remain constant regardless of where you are or who you are with.
Beloved, one of the ways you can shine your light is by living a holy life even when others act in ungodly ways. You can be different from the crowd by refusing to engage in ungodly acts such as gossiping about others. You can also shine your light by boldly sharing the gospel to everyone around you who is yet to be saved.
My dear child, in a world that is filled with sin and negativity, you have been called to stand out and reflect Christ. Just as a city on a hill cannot be hidden, your identity as a child of God should be evident in how you treat others, the way you speak, and the decisions you make. Whether at home, in school, or on social media, let the light of God shine through you. I pray that the light of God will continually shine in your life, in Jesus’ name.
Confession:
I shine for Jesus wherever I go!
Hymn 9: My Soul Is So Happy In Jesus
1 My soul is so happy in Jesus,
For He is so precious to me;
His voice it is music to hear it,
His face it is Heaven to see.
Chorus
I am happy in Him, I am happy in Him;
My soul, with delight
He fills day and night,
For I am happy in Him.
2 He sought me so long ere I knew Him,
When wandering afar from the fold,
Safe home in His arms He hath brought me,
To where there are pleasures untold.
3 His love and His mercy surround me,
His grace like a river doth flow;
His Spirit, to guide and to comfort,
Is with me wherever I go.
4 They say I shall some day be like Him,
My cross and my burden lay down;
Till then I will ever be faithful,
In gathering gems for His crown.
